VERY RARE!! War Department stamped RFC MkI Flying

The MkI Flying Helmet was the very first designated Flying Helmet of the Royal Flying Corps and continued to be used by the Royal Air Force into the 1930's. So it is fair to say that the majority of MkI's are likely to be post-WWI.....this one isn't!

This is a real rarity and does carry quite a few very scarce features! Incredibly this is the only MkI RFC Helmet I've personally seen with an official War Department stamp. The ear flaps have been amended to accept Gosport Receivers, and on top of all that, the Helmet also has its original makers label - "George H Leavey"

In fantastic condition, this is an extremely rare World War One Flying Helmet of the RFC/RAF and not one to be missed.
