ORIGINAL!! Cased, French WWI Flying Goggles - Bras

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE LATER AVIATOR GOGGLES USED BY MOST NATIONS....THESE ARE THE REAL THING!

A genuine pair of early World War One, French made 'split-lens' goggles.
Marked on the heavy brass frames; "BREVETE SGDG FRANCE ETRANGER".

It is highly possible were used by an Airman in the German Imperial Air Force as the popper on the leather carry case is marked "DRGM" (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster).

Apart from one shallow chip to one lens the conditition is excellent and these could certainly be worn today. The green silk liner shows minimal expected wear but is still very vibrant and complete. The leather is still very soft and the frames are in excellent shape.

A very rare pair of early World War One Flying Goggles.
