ALMOST MINT!! Very Rare 1st Pattern Ctype FAA Flyi

This is a real find if ever there was one!

An oustanding 1st Pattern WWII Ctype Flying Helmet as issued to the Fleet Air Arm.

This very rare Helmet is almost perfect, but one of the zipped receiver covers had a large tear on one side. The tear was clean and has now been professionally patched and glued internally. This repair was carried out by a leather specialist and is gauranteed by him not to come apart again.

Note; I have added a couple of pictures showing how the left receiver will look when fitted with receivers and cushions. This also shows the strength in the repair.

Other than the repair the Helmet is immaculate throughout! Good, thick leather, excellent "Bennetts" Buckle, perfect zips, leather pulls, poppers and stitching.

To cap it all, the Helmet has a fantastic Fleet Air Arm stamp on the buckle protector.

Even with the repair this is still one of the finest, original WWII FAA Flying Helmets you will see.

It's very hard to emphasise the rarity of an item when you trade in "rare items", but this is a very hard to find Flying Helmet. 2nd Pattern examples of the FAA Flying Helmet do appear on the market but seldom do you see a 1st Pattern, especially in such amazing condition and with that superb FAA stamp.
