UNIQUE!! Early RAF Chaplain Studio Portraits in un

These are two very early (hairstyle) studio photographs of a Royal Air Force Chaplain. Original photographs, the civilian picture taken in Cambridge, The uniformed picture taken in Macclesfield. I still have the original envelope the pictures came in.

The civilian hairstyle would suggest this dates from the 1910's. The Chaplains Department of the Royal Air Force was formed in May 1918. It wouldn't surprise me if this Chaplain was one of the very first to join the Chaplains Department.

The pictures come mounted in a beautiful hand carved 'box' picture frame with carved RAF Chaplain wings on the base and olive branches to the sides.

This whole display is in wonderful condition and is very unique in terms of early Royal Air Force display pieces.
