OUTSTANDING!! WWI 'Creagh & Osborne' 5/17 Air Comp
When this compass came to me it was impossible to see the inside. The glass has become contanimated with years of old fluid which had turned to 'gunk'. So, armed with gloves, goggles and mask I opened it up.
The inside had a small covering of brown fluid and the base was thick with brown sludge, rust, and flakes of old paint....14 hours of painstaking restoration later you see it as it is.
The compass is located on its porcelain pivot and being held with blu-tac purely for display purposes. Of course, the compass would need a complete overhaul if it was to be used as intended again.
This listing is for the compass alone. The Inclinometer and NkV RFC Clock are listed separately
