MINT!! 'Oria' Pilot Wings (unofficial) 'Lafayette
Again, part of a WWI collection of very rare and original "FIX" and "ORIA" unofficial Pilot Wings.
This example is shown in Philippe Bartlett's book and described as "Eagle head turned to the left. Fastening by safety pin. (For American Pilots)
This example is in better than mint condition. It is exactly as it would have been purchased in Paris during the early years of WWI. Still with its original "ORIA" retail label. Bearing in mind these were made as costume jewellery this also has the original hanging pearl from the Eagle's beak. These would have been removed by the Airmen of the "Lafayette Escadrile".
