Black Leather Flying Helmet of the Imperial German

I believe this to be one of the earliest, and rarest German Flying Helmets I've had, which is why I've dated it to the "Fliegertruppen des deutschen Kaiserreiches"....the Imperial German Army Air Service, 1910-1916.

The overall condition is Good, but not great. The metal parts, poppers and buckle have rusted somwehat with one popper having come apart. The very uncomfortable blanket liner has also suffered over the years but is still in place.

Having said that, after a quick restoration the black leather is in fantastic condition. So this very scarce Flying Helmet looks superb on display!

The style and look of the Helmet cannot be ignored, it simply screams "WWI German", and one point I really like is the 'Field fitted' peak.
